The Radical Left is Disgusting
In the aftermath of the horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk, it’s painfully clear that many on the radical left have once again revealed their true colors. While I want to clarify that I’m not condemning all left-leaning individuals—there are many decent, respectful Democrats and conservatives alike—what I am calling out are those who seem to revel in tragedy when it suits their narrative. These are the people celebrating a senseless act of violence against someone they disagreed with, and that is profoundly unacceptable.
I am utterly disgusted by the responses I’ve seen on social media and in mainstream outlets. It’s incumbent upon all of us to reflect on this. Remember—Charlie Kirk was not just someone with differing opinions; he was a loving husband and father, gunned down not because he did anything wrong, but because he was speaking, debating, and encouraging discourse. There was nothing malicious in his words; he was respectful, open-minded, and dedicated to engaging in meaningful conversation.
Unfortunately, for some, this was perceived as an existential threat. One individual, in particular, saw Charlie as a target. Thankfully, that evil monster has been caught. While he remains a suspect, the evidence against him is overwhelming. A family member of the suspect played a crucial role in his capture. The suspect, Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old, has become dangerously twisted in his ideology—capable of such heinous violence. How does this happen? Why does this happen? And why does it seem to come predominantly from one side of the political spectrum?
Since this tragedy occurred, I’ve been appalled by some of the things I’ve seen online—comments so heinous they go beyond anger to a level of disgust I cannot comprehend. How can people be so cruel? How can they lack basic human empathy? It’s one thing to disagree; it’s another entirely to justify or celebrate violence. No political disagreement justifies the taking of another person’s life.
Here are just a couple of examples of the sickening things being said:
These are a small sample of thousands of despicable comments. It’s unfathomable that anyone could be happy about such tragedy. But as Utah’s governor wisely said, our response must not be violence or hatred. Continue to fight for your principles, but do so with your voice, not your fists.
A final note: I am not a fan of cancel culture, but I do believe those expressing joy over Charlie’s death should face consequences. We’re seeing teachers, government workers, and other professionals openly celebrating and even telling students that Charlie “deserved” to die. Teachers, in particular, should be held to a higher standard. While they have First Amendment rights, their words have impact—and spreading hateful rhetoric to impressionable minds is unacceptable.
Remember—use your voice. Do not become silenced by intimidation or hatred. Stand firm, advocate peacefully, and always remember the importance of respect and decency in our discourse. Become “un-silenced”.
